LFW Holly Fulton A/W '12

Another day another show... Today I attended the LFW Holly Fulton AW 12 at Somerset House. I always get lost in there so I may have been a tad fashionably late... Not to worry though, so was the show. Waiting outside in the queue people watching as street style photographers flashed away, my eyes were delightfully entertained with all the cool and quirky fashion.

The queue began to shuffle and before I know it, I'M IN!

Wow. Full house. Cosy, yes?

The show began with a bang, the lights were dimmed and all eyes were on the catwalk. LOVED the music (mixed by Jonjo Jury) - the atmosphere was alive with a dash of awe.

...TO THE CLOTHES!

Holly is well known for her graphic prints and bold aesthetics, and this collection is no different. Inspired by sixties cuts (shift dresses & pencil skirts…) and patterns (such as floral motifs), glasshouses with references of 'exotic palms and creatures flourishing in the damp humidity', (I liked the moths/butterflies patterned trousers - looks nicer than it sounds, honest!) all combined with jewelled necklaces and Christian Louboutin killer heels, this season’s Holly Fulton woman is ‘channeling a little bit of Lady Chatterley’. Think French beatnik-brunette, defined cheekbones, and come-to-bed eyes all while maintaining a high level of sophistication.

From a furious fuscia pink to turquoise tones mixed with black for dramatic effect, Holly focused on a reduced colour palette as she was exploring “the depths that can be achieved by utilising multiple tones of a single colour.” Simple yet effective. Fan.

Unfortunately, my camera made the models look like ghosts so I don't have any better images... for example...

(oo-ee-oo-ee-oo-ee... eh'hem.. that's my ghost noise...)

Creepy, right? So if you want to nosey at the full collection I recommend you click here for beautiful images from Style.com

Bye guys!
