A Cream With The Ultimate Flower Power

Darphin Ideal Resource Smoothing Retexturizing Radiance Cream RRP £50.00 Available nationwide from February 2012

Ideal Resource is described as ‘a multi-corrective treatment that targets the three major sources for youthful looking skin to help erase the appearance of wrinkles and surface imperfections, whilst helping to revive skin’s natural radiance.’

So how are these three areas targeted?

Wrinkles – Japanese knotweed is used to boost natural collagen production so the appearance of wrinkles is reduced.

Radiance - Centella asiatica stimulates natural collagen production; improving skin’s lifted appearance, helping skin reveal its natural glow.

And…

Skin texture - Pyruvic Acid from a white hibiscus flower, works by supporting skin’s natural cell turnover through exfoliation which helps improve skin’s texture and smooth the skin’s surface.

Personally, I find it quite difficult to find a good moisturiser, one that doesn’t just sit on my skin leaving me with a clammy, heavy, blocked feeling… but this one, I’m pleased to say, just melts into my skin. Oooooh.. Ahhhhh… I’m left feeling hydrated and refreshed. As the formula is quite rich, you only need a small amount, which also means it will last longer, definitely giving you worth for money!

Leaving my skin velvety soft to the touch with an instant glow, I feel perfectly pampered and could not recommend this cream more.

Watch this space for updates after regular use.

LFW Holly Fulton A/W '12

Another day another show... Today I attended the LFW Holly Fulton AW 12 at Somerset House. I always get lost in there so I may have been a tad fashionably late... Not to worry though, so was the show. Waiting outside in the queue people watching as street style photographers flashed away, my eyes were delightfully entertained with all the cool and quirky fashion.

The queue began to shuffle and before I know it, I'M IN!

Wow. Full house. Cosy, yes?

The show began with a bang, the lights were dimmed and all eyes were on the catwalk. LOVED the music (mixed by Jonjo Jury) - the atmosphere was alive with a dash of awe.

...TO THE CLOTHES!

Holly is well known for her graphic prints and bold aesthetics, and this collection is no different. Inspired by sixties cuts (shift dresses & pencil skirts…) and patterns (such as floral motifs), glasshouses with references of 'exotic palms and creatures flourishing in the damp humidity', (I liked the moths/butterflies patterned trousers - looks nicer than it sounds, honest!) all combined with jewelled necklaces and Christian Louboutin killer heels, this season’s Holly Fulton woman is ‘channeling a little bit of Lady Chatterley’. Think French beatnik-brunette, defined cheekbones, and come-to-bed eyes all while maintaining a high level of sophistication.

From a furious fuscia pink to turquoise tones mixed with black for dramatic effect, Holly focused on a reduced colour palette as she was exploring “the depths that can be achieved by utilising multiple tones of a single colour.” Simple yet effective. Fan.

Unfortunately, my camera made the models look like ghosts so I don't have any better images... for example...

(oo-ee-oo-ee-oo-ee... eh'hem.. that's my ghost noise...)

Creepy, right? So if you want to nosey at the full collection I recommend you click here for beautiful images from Style.com

Bye guys!

LFW Michael Van Der Ham A/W '12

Today's show I was lucky enough to attend was Michael Van Der Ham's A/W '12 at the Topshop Show Space.

Sitting comfortably? Then I'll begin!

So Mr Van Der Ham likes to experiment with his designs - he described his buyer as “Someone who's not afraid to wear something a little more bold”, and that's exactly what his work portrays.

With mismatched decades all combined into one new super era, his 2012 A/W collection was a mix of Hollywood glam, vintage-esque, and 80s bold retro colours and prints all with a modern day edge. Genius.

A selection of my favourites...

Take a bow Michael!

Ok I didn't quite catch him.. quick little bugger he was! Well done Van Der Ham, you never fail to impress.

LFW's Nicole Farhi A/W '12 Women's Collection

Today I attended LFW's Nicole Farhi A/W '12 Women's show at the Royal Courts of Justice.

(Image taken from Elle.com)

A couple of feet or so behind the one and only, the great, Anna Wintour, opposite the lovely Hilary Alexander and a clear view of the catwalk, I had quite the observer's spot.

The collection was classic and smart, powerful yet feminine and as chic and elegant as always. With masculine tailoring mixed with just the right mix of glamour, Miss Farhi did herself proud.

Here's a snippet of the runway from my trusty iPhone...

When uploading you don't succeed, try, try, youtube... here's the link http://youtu.be/hmEvpGV8ZuU

Until tomorrow...

Nutty Yet Nifty

This is most possibly the best thing I have ever seen...

...What is this contraption I hear you mumble? Let me zoom in on the posters stuck onto it for you...

It's an anonymous singing booth! HOW. AWESOME. Seriously, whoever thought of this ingenious idea and plonked it on Brick Lane, I take my hat off to you.

La LaA LAHH....!! LA La lahhhhh....

Inspired

I'm a girl who has a wardrobe full of clothes, but absolutely nothing to wear. I'm sure you can relate. So I've found myself looking up past images of my modern day style icon - Laura Hollins, more famously known as Agyness Deyn, for some style inspiration. The following are a selection of my favourites...

Oh and I NEED this jacket in my life...

She never fails to inspire me. From fashion shoots to street style, she could wrap herself in tinfoil and put a spoon in her hair and she would still look cool.
